Chemistry graduate turned business guy Alfredo Pascual is President-elect Bongbong Marcos’ choice to lead the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Marcos announced his offer to Pascual to join the Cabinet in a press conference Thursday (May 26).
Pascual, a former president of the University of the Philippines System, made his foray into business as chairman of the Asian Institute of Management’s Master of Business Management program. He then pursued a Masters in Business Administration and took on management roles in various companies.
He is a member of UP’s Upsilon Sigma Phi fraternity, with Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. among its esteemed members.
Pascual is currently president of the Management Association of the Philippines.
He is currently independent director at SM Investments Corporation, Megawide Construction Corp., and Concepcion Industrial Corp.
