Redefining Filipino hospitality: Gokongweis set to open first 5-star hotel in Cebu integrated resort

Fili Hotel is set welcome local and foreign tourists with a unique experience of comfort, luxury and the warmest of Filipino hospitality.
A five-star brand under Robinsons Hotels Resorts, Fili will be one of the three hotel properties to open at NUSTAR Resort and Casino, the first and only integrated resort outside of Luzon.
Located in the picturesque Kawit Island in Cebu’s South Road Properties, Fili will be under the supervision of its general manager Paul Rene Lee whose 30 years of extensive experience in global hospitality management will serve as a solid foundation for a progressive Filipino luxury hotel.
Lee’s valuable work experience has taken him to global locations including North America, China, Hong Kong & Macau, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
“Fili will embrace the core traits of Filipino culture. The Philippines is globally known for its people’s warmth and friendliness and we want to harness that atmosphere when guests come and visit,” Lee said.
The hotel will offer over 300 rooms and suites ranging from deluxe kings, presidential suites and villas that are spacious and have a stunning view of the sea, Cebu’s magnificent mountains, and the brimming city skyline.
Guests will be taken on a culinary journey of the region by Filipino chefs and serviced by warm Filipino associates in the Fili Lobby Lounge and Fili Cafe.
The two other hotels to open at NUSTAR Resort and Casino are Nustar Hotel Cebu and Grand Summit Hotel.
NUSTAR Resort and Casino is the flagship project of Universal Hotels and Resorts Inc., a privately owned corporation of the Gokongwei Group focused primarily on gaming and integrated resort developments across the country.
RHR is the hospitality arm of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) and one of the largest hotel companies in the Philippines with a network of 24 hotels in operation.
In the international deluxe category, RHR has the IHG-managed Crowne Plaza Galleria and Holiday Inn Galleria, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, and The Westin Sonata Place Ortigas.
For its homegrown brands, there are the Summit Hotels and Resorts brand and the essential service hotel chain Go Hotels.
