Charlie “Atong” Ang, whose firm operates the popular Pitmasters Live online cockfighting games, has confirmed his attendance to the Senate probe on e-sabong on March 4.
The Senate Committee on Public Order and Safety said Ang will be present at the hearing, which it allowed the media to cover physically at the Senate premises.
Ang owns Lucky 8 Star Quest, which is one of the e-sabong establishments licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor).
The Senate panel is looking into e-sabong and its possible link to the disappearance of 31 cockfighting aficionados or sabungeros.
Initial reports said some of the disappeared sabungeros were last seen in three of the cockpits under Ang’s group.
Ang previously testified in Senate hearings on jueteng during the administration of former President Joseph Estrada.
He also appeared as a resource person in the Senate probe on the operations of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in 2018.
