BSP shortlists 5 engineering firms for new green building in New Clark City

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has shortlisted five architectural firms vying for a contract to design its production facility which will rise at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.

Those that made the cut were Aidea Inc., Nepthy S. Del Rosario and Partners, a joint venture between Enrique O. Olonan & Associates and Enrique O. Olonan and Associates Co. and Palafox Associates.

The BSP has budgeted P90 million for its new building’s conceptual design.

BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno earlier said the design should be green and promote the use of resources such as energy, water and sustainable materials.

Construction of the new facility is targeted to start by the second quarter of 2022.

Sitting on 31 hectares of land, the New Clark City building will house a research academy, museum, structures for currency and security documents production, executive offices and information technology.
