The city government of Makati shut down the hotel owned by Malaysian billionaire Vincent Tan over the quarantine breach. The Business Permit and Licensing Office served the closure order issued by City Administrator Claro Certeza and City Legal Officer Atty. Michael Arthur Camiña.

The shutdown is “without prejudice to the filing of administrative, criminal or civil cases” against the hotel for violating health protocols and letting Gwyneth Anne Chua leave her mandatory quarantine before it was lifted.

Giant closure order notices were likewise taped on the hotel’s main entrance doors to deter other guests from entering its premises.
