Chrissy Teigen’s Squid Game party for the rich and famous draws flak for ‘missing the point’

Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend recently threw a star-studded Squid Game-themed party.

As Chrissy gushed over the success of the party, which modified the games and gave prizes of luxurious vacations and gifts to the winners, netizens were disgusted over the obvious flaunt of wealth and the couple’s “out of touch” interpretation of the show’s main message.

In the Squid Games, poverty-stricken contestants desperate to get out of their predicament fight to death to win a grand prize of 4.56 billion won, pitting their lives and future in lethal children’s games because of their misery and hopelessness.

It turned out that the games were staged by rich people to relieve their boredom.

Netizens said the couple missed the point of the series which was centered on violence and capitalism.

“Rich people dressing up as characters from Squid Game… way to miss the point of the show. Super tone deaf,” one Instagram user commented.
