Clear skies ahead: Gokongweis feeling optimistic about tourism, ready to rehire retrenched Cebu Pacific crew

Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific announced Saturday it was preparing to reactivate some of the 1,300 employees it laid off during the pandemic as the airline industry restarts flying at scale.

Cebu Pacific is ready to take advantage of the improving business conditions in the country as the number of coronavirus cases decline and more domestic destinations open up.

The budget airline did not say how many staff would be taken back but it has begun inviting former cabin crew to apply as it gears up for growth and recovery.

Cebu Pacific vice president for People and Admin Felix Lopez said that with the faster pace of vaccination, the country is making strides toward the resumption of domestic travel.
