UPDATED: Jovy Hernandez leaves PLDT after 20 years; Melissa Vergel De Dios gets promotion

A top executive of bilyonaryo Manny V. Pangilinan has quit PLDT Inc.

PLDT senior vice president Juan Victor “Jovy” Hernandez has opted for “voluntary separation” effective November 16.

Hernandez has been head of PLDT’s enterprise business since 2017. He joined PLDT as an executive trainee in October 2000 or two years after Pangilinan and the First Pacific Group wrested control of the country’s largest telco from bilyonaryo Tonyboy Cojuangco.

PLDT also announced the promotion of a dozen officers led by first vice president Melissa V. Vergel de Dios as chief sustainability officer, effective November 4. She has been FVP of PLDT since 2013.

The other new appointments are:

* Maria Carina J. Amparo as FVP head for people group business partnering

* Ma. Delia V. Villarino as VP group head for enterprise revenue

* Melvin Jeffrey C. Chan as VP head for business development and
enterprise innovations

* Benedict Patrick V. Alcoseba as VP head for disruptive business and
enterprise product and marketing

* Joseph Michael Vincent G. Co as VP head for people group operations,
services and enablement

* John John R. Gonzales as VP for enterprise digital solutions

* Patrick S. Tang as VP head for HOME customer management

* Abner Tito L. Alberto AVP for stock and liability insurance and
assistant corporate secretary

* Benjamin Jose C. Causon Jr. AVP for consumer service

* Ramil C. Enriquez AVP for HOME business and consumer analytics

* Ser John S. Layug AVP for Luzon project management

* Mark David P. Martinez as AVP for subsidiaries services and revenue contracts
