Pay up or else: Anytime Fitness threatens ex-clients despite cancelling membership

Anytime Fitness seems unwilling to let go of its clients even if they have cancelled their membership.

ABS-CBN news executive Lynda Jumilla tweeted her frustration over the fitness club after she received a threat that her personal details would be sent to a third-party collection agent by November 1 if she fails to pay the membership fee.

“I know gyms are trying to get back on their feet after the long hiatus. But they need to check records before sending out messages like this to those who have long terminated their membership,” Jumilla said.

Her other concern: a potential privacy breach.

The tweet helped Jumilla find kindred souls who were apparently facing the same dilemma with Anytime Fitness.

“When they’re after your business, ang bait. pag ayaw mo na, kung ano-ano nang panggigipit,” she added.
