Bagyo lang, dapa na! ‘Maring’ downs mobile services of Dennis Uy’s Dito

Subscribers of Dito Telecommunity in parts of northern Luzon lost mobile services when they needed them the most—at the height of Tropical Storm Maring.

The Dennis Uy-owned telco apologized to its subscribers on Wednesday (october 13) for the inconvenience caused by the unavailability of its services, which it blamed on the bad weather.

“Due to the recent typhoon, our services in some parts of La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Pangasinan are currently unavailable. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” Dito said in a public advisory posted online.

At least nine people have died due to the Tropical Storm Maring, which affected parts of northern Luzon and MIMAROPA regions. The bad weather also damaged millions of pesos worth of property and crops.
