The Securities and Exchange Commission has warned the public against the illegal use of its logo on social media.
In an advisory, the SEC said there are individuals and groups who use its official logo without its permission.
“It has come to the attention of the Securities and Exchange Commission that a public Facebook page named SEC News and Updates is using the Commission’s official logo without authority from the Commission,” the corporate regulator said.
“The public is further informed that the Commission is no in any way connected or affiliated with the SEC News and Updates Facebook Page,” it added.
SEC’s logo was duly registered with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines in April 2016.
“As such, the logo is property of the Commission and all rights pertaining thereto belong to the SEC. Any unauthorized use thereof by individuals or entities shall be severely dealt by the law,” the SEC said.
