Subscribers from Globe, Smart and Dito can now keep their mobile phone numbers even if they switch to other networks.
The tripartite Telecommunications Connectivity Inc. – composed of Smart, Globe, and Dito Telecommunity representatives – said core services for mobile number portability are now available beginning Thursday, September 30.
TCI puts Republic Act No. 11202 or the Mobile Number Portability Act into action, letting customers use the same number despite transferring providers.
“We do expect to experience some inconveniences as we start offering the service, but we are confident that with the continued cooperation and hard work of our three partner telcos, we can say that finally, forever is here.” TCI General Manager Melanie Manuel said in a statement.
Transactions for network transfers may be processed through the target new provider.
