Fixed broadband service provider PT&T Corp. has elected a new chairman after Salvador “Buddy” T. Zamora was tapped by Senator Manny Pacquiao as his campaign manager for the 2022 presidential election.
In a statement, PT&T said it appointed Roberto “Bob” B. Ortiz as its new chairman during the company’s organizational meeting on Friday.
The appointment of Ortiz, who has been an independent director of PT&T since 2018, follows a thorough selection process led by the board’s nomination committee oto allow its former chairman “to focus on personal endeavors outside the company.”
Buddy, brother Nickel Asia’s Manny Zamora and San Juan congressman Ronnie Zamora, will continue to serve as non-executive director of PT&T.
“It is a great privilege to take on the role of chair at PT&T. I look forward to working with the executive team to drive forward the company’s strategy and ensuring that it continues to drive and create significant value for all stakeholders,” said Ortiz.
Ortiz has over 27 years of experience as CFO and director of various local and multinational corporations.
