Police are investigating Julian Ongpin in connection with the death of artist Bree Jonson, who was found lifeless in the room they shared at the Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel in La Union.

Police Regional Office 1 chief PBGen Emmanuel Peralta said Ongpin has been charged with two counts of violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

The police were called to the hostel over the weekend after reports of a ruckus happened in Ongpin and Jonson’s room.

Police found about 12.6 grams of cocaine scattered on the bed. They are investigating the events that led to Jonson’s death.

The police chief has also ordered regional police groups to coordinate and support La Union Police Provincial Office on the said investigation.”

Jonson’s family, meanwhile, is urging authorities to immediately conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of her death.
