Nowhere safe: COVID pricks paradise island’s bubble

The coronavirus has breached the island bubble of one of the country’s luxury resorts.

A Babbler said a staff member in the resort recently tested positive for COVID-19 which forced it to shut down its facilities temporarily.

The resort management, which conducts regular testing for its staff, is still investigating how its employee contracted COVID. Fortunately, the Babbler said there were no guests in the resort during that period.

The Babbler said the resort had diligently enforced world-class COVID-19 safety standards from the testing of guests and residents to disinfecting rooms and facilities to minimizing contact during service.

Management was quick to inform residents who owned or leased villas on the island about its first COVID case since the pandemic broke out in March 2020.
