Believe it or not, you can register your business with the Securities and Exchange Commission in as little as one day starting September 15.
The SEC launched its online registration system which enables the single day processing of applications for new domestic corporations.
SEC chairman Emilio B. Aquino said the new registration system was in line with the agency’s goal of improving the ease of doing business in the country, complemented by its digital initiatives to provide seamless transactions to the public.
Eligible to register are domestic corporations which are 100 percent owned by Filipinos and located outside an economic zone.
The proposed corporate name must include a descriptor according to the company’s industry classification, must not contain any trade name, and must not be subject to any appeal for reconsideration.
Upon completing the online registration process, applicants may download the digital copy of their interim certificates of incorporation.
