Lumpiang Shanghai reigns supreme in Taste Atlas ranking

One of Filipinos’ favorite appetizers, Lumpia Shanghai was ranked as the Philippines’ best food, with a near perfect rating of 4.9 stars out of five by Taste Atlas.

It was closely followed by sinigang with a score of 4.8 stars while breakfast superstar tocino received 4.7 stars.

On the middle tier with “great” rating are sisig, adobo and lechon while those on “OK” level comprised daing, pinangat and torta.

The worst tier was made up of balut, diniguan and pinipig, although some Twitter users do not agree.

Some said that the raters may not have a good appreciation of local Filipino food and questioned whether any true Pinoy would choose tocino over lechon or sisig.
