Deep fissures were found Sunday (August 22) beside the site where Ortigas Land was building a skyscraper. The area had to be cordoned off to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for safety.
Tarpaulins weighed down by heavy sacks have been spread over the cracks.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto inspected the area on Monday (August 23) with local officials and experts to find out what caused the cracks.
“Our engineers are working with Ortigas Land, Manila Water, Meralco, and the barangay to pinpoint the cause of the damage along Topaz Road. They will finish submit their full assessment by today,” Sotto tweeted.
