Clients of e-wallet firm PayMaya took to Facebook their frustration after hackers got hold of their account details and tried to use their cards to pay for online transactions.
User Grae Abadejos exposed six PayMaya transactions charged to the account to pay racy establishments named “Adonis Geybar” and “Putang Ina Wardrobes.” Luckily, the e-wallet only had P21 in it which made the transfers impossible.
“Sa may mga Pay-paymaya, block niyo muna yung mga card niyo or wag niyo muna cash-inan nang pera. Dami kong nakita sa Paymaya Group PH na nakuhanan nang pera and they received the same texts sakin. IDK anong nangyayari pero buti nalang diko ginagamit Paymaya ko at walang laman,” the Facebook post read.
Others had similar complaints of being charged by bogus-sounding billers like “Awit paymaya” and “Jakol Ka Lang” on the mobile wallet managed by Voyager CEO Orlando Vea, who shared the experience in the public PayMaya Users Facebook group.

Netizens were also complaining how the customer hotlines of PayMaya were unaccessible as they strive to recover their hard-earned money.
