Wait for -ber months: US Embassy cancels visa interviews due to global COVID surge

Filipinos applying for a tourist visa will have to wait until September at the earliest before their documents are processed.

The US Embassy in the Philippines announced that it has canceled all appointments for nonimmigrant B1/B2 visa interviews from now until August 31, 2021.

This was “in response to the continued significant worldwide challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic,” it said in a statement.

Rescheduling will only be permitted once regular visa services are offered again.

“There is no need to contact us at this time,” the embassy added, clarifying that appointment requests will not be accommodated anytime soon.

Visa fees paid for cancelled appointments will still be honored for interviews until September 2022.
