Japan’s no. 1 pouch Ramen entering PH market

Japan’s best-selling brand of pouch instant noodles is seeking to explore the Philippine market as more Filipinos have expressed a growing interest in Japanese cuisine.

In an interview with the Inquirer, Yumei Mugita, general manager of Sanyo Foods, the producer of Sapporo Ichiban instant noodles, said the company was looking to enter into partnerships to bring its brands to the Philippines.

“We are fully aware of the tasty local brands available in the local market, but by introducing our product to the Philippine market, we would like to offer additional options to the consumers of our various types of instant noodles.”

Mugita expressed confidence that they would be able to cater to consumers who really want to enjoy authentic Japanese noodles.

Sanyo Foods has been exporting their noodles to the Philippines but it hasn’t been able to maximize the market in previous years.
