Angry bear: FoodPanda threatens 10-year suspension vs riders who join protest

It’s now the turn of riders of food delivery app FoodPanda based in Davao City to protest against the company’s supposed unfair practices.

Kath Cortez of Davao Today reported photos of riders with calls to increase their salaries from the app.

FoodPanda took revenge by sending out notices to riders who participated in the protest action that they are suspended from the job until July 13, 2031, or a decade from now.

In November 2020, FoodPanda riders in Manila also mounted a similar protest outside the Department of Labor and Employment office to ask for its intervention against unfair labor policies, such as pay cuts and “irregular” scheduling of delivery orders.
