Those who registered until that date will be eligible to join a raffle.

The Swedish furniture manufacturer said it did not expect 100,000 people to register online on July 6 since the company only prepared for 120,000 signups per hour.

“Last night was a great learning for us. We have been preparing for the Philippines for a couple of years now and we are continuously learning, and will continuously improve our preparation,” the company said.

Both “humbled and surprised” by the surge of customers to its website, IKEA assured that its team is hard at work to ensure the site will be back online again.
