In a virtual briefing, DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamano, said the number of the company’s subscribers reached 890,000 as of June 10 and is expected to increase further as it expands to an additional 23 cities and municipalities, boosting its total service areas to 123.
“We expect later this month, we should be able to have about 146 to 150 total cities and municipalities that we will be opening for commercial service,” said DITO chief technology officer Rodolfo Santiago
“We’re about ready to complete the minimum 51 percent population coverage that is required to us by July 8,” he added.
DITO currently has over 3,000 cell sites across the country.
It is launching an unlimited data offering for P499 a month and 10 GB high-speed data for 30 days for only P99.
The company aims to get 30 percent of the market share dominated by Globe Telecom and Smart Communications.
