Proponents of the 10-station, 10-kilometer subway project in Makait City have finally signed a deal in Beijing.
In a disclosure, Makati Subway Inc. and China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Co. Ltd. have agreed to peg the engineering, procurement and construction contract at $1.213 billion – $978.6 million for civil works and $234.16 million for mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
The contract was signed during the 2020 International Fair for Trade in Services, The Belt and Road and Overseas Projects held in Beijing, China, more than a year.
The public-private partners expect to finish the 700,000-passenger a day subway by 2025.
