Confirmed: MVP in talks with Lopezes to run ABS-CBN shows on rival Cignal TV

“That’s currently under discussions between the two [ABS-CBN and Cignal TV]. I don’t know where we are. That’s been offered not only to us but with other pay TV operators in the country. I think some of them have already accepted,” Pangilinan, the chairman of Cignal said during the virtual briefing today.

“I think Cignal is still assessing it. Hopefuly to decide by next week. We are open to it, but there’s other factors to consider,” he added.

Pangilinan, however, said that there was no discussions with respect to TV5 and ABS-CBN

Bilyonaryo earlier reported that ABS-CBN was in talks with Pangilinan to rent a channel on the latter’s Cignal Cable, the country’s biggest cable television network with a 50 percent market share or 2.2 million subscribers.

Cignal TV is a subsidiary of MediaQuest Holdings, the media arm of the PLDT Group headed by Pangilinan.
