Sad: Lucio Tan’s fave Chinese resto is closing down

Century Seafood Restaurant (CSR), the iconic dining place beside bilyonaryo Lucio Tan’s Century Park Hotel, is saying goodbye to its thousands of fans.

In a May 5 letter to employees, CSR manager Ericsson See said management has decided to close down the business this month due to shrinking cash and a gloomy prospects brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

See called COVID-19 the worst crisis faced by one of Manila Bay’s best restaurants.

See has given employees until May 22 to settle their separation pays.

CSR is owned Robert Sy who also owns East Ocean Restaurant at Macapagal Avenue, the single biggest Chinese restaurant in the country.

Tan is CSR’s most famous diner and gets a special discount from Sy.
