Updated: Wack-Wack Golf shuts down as member reveals contact with virus carrier

Wack Wack Golf and Country Club is taking urgent measures after one of its members played at the club with a guest who later tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a letter to its members, Wack Wack Golf president Lawrence N. Tan said the board decided to close the Club effective March 11 until further notice to clean and disinfect every surface.

“This time would be an opportunity to disinfect and sanitize the premises to ensure that our Club remains a safe place for everyone. We are hoping for your understanding and full cooperation at this time.

The board is working hard to put safety protocols in place in keeping with the highest of standards set forth by our government,” Tan said.

The member was told to leave the club after one of the club’s staff reported about an incident that took place in the men’s locker room. The employee claimed that when he was about to issue a towel to the member, the member told him not to approach him and maintain his distance.

When pressed about the matter, the member admitted to getting into contract with a carrier of coronavirus.
