President Rodrigo Duterte will file an economic sabotage case against Maynilad Water Services Inc. led by Manny V. Pangilinan and Manila Water Corp. of the Ayala group for their water contract deals he deemed disadvantageous to the government.
““Ang ating tubig ginawang negosyo ng mga tao dito sa Pilipinas… si Ayala pati si Pangilinan. But I will make their life hereon very, very, very miserable… Tag-isang sampal kayo sa akin. Maniwala kayo. Pat — patikim ko sa inyo. Pakita ko sa Pilipino paano mag-sampal ng mga milyonaryo, bilyonaryo. L**** kayo,” said Duterte in a speech.
“I will insist that they be tried for economic sabotage…I will arrest them lahat silang mga… Patikim ko sila paano ang buhay ng preso. Kung pati ako isasali nila. Sasali ako doon sa presohan. Walang problema ‘yan. Walang mawala sa akin. Pero hihilain ko sila kung ako titirahin nila,” he added.
Duterte made the statement after a Singapore arbitrartion court ordered his administration to pay P3.6 billion to Maynilad and P7.4 bllion to Manila Water for losses due to delays in water rate hikes.
Duterte said the Maynilad-Manila Water refund issue was serious it was discussed extensively during his last Cabinet meeting which reached up to 4:00 a.m. on December 3.
“I’m really adamant about the Filipino being screwed. Atin ang tubig…pumasok tayo sa kontrata na distributor lang sila. But they were treating us if it was a mining gold o diamond,” said Duterte in a speech.
“Ang kontrata napaka-tagilid na tagilid because if they (Maynilad and Manila Water) fail to realize the profit enduring the lifetime of the contract or at any period, babayad tayo sa nalugi nila. Anak ng… P***** i** naman ninyo kung ganun,” he said.
Duterte was pissed that the two firms treated the government like an “artificial being” (“walang Republic of the Philippines”) and water as a commodity and not a natural resource in the contract signed in 1997 under the Ramos administration.
“Unahan ninyo ako. Patayin ninyo ako o p***** i** papatayin ko kayo. Sigurado ‘yan. Inano ninyo ang Pilpino eh. Kung Pilipino ka, papayag ka ng ganun? You think that you can really afford to bargain away the dignity of your country?” said Duterte.
“Tubig, kailangan ng tao. It’s — lahat ng… ‘Yun ang tinitira nila. Electric, tapos itong tubig. It’s in the hands of the oligarch who are a [unclear] a son of a b****. Hindi ako pwede nitong ganito,” he added.
