Diokno taps UP experts to help crunch big data

BILYONARYO.COM

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno has hired the services of his beloved University of the Philippines to make use of big data in the BSP’s operations

Diokno, an economics graduate from UP decades ago, hopes that with the partnership, the central bank would be able to better interpret industry statistics.

” The 12-month long BSP Big Data Project will focus on the theoretical, methodological, and operational aspects of institutionalizing big data in the BSP,” the central bank said.

UP will be tasked with identifying roadmaps and recommendations for IT upgrades to equip the BSP with the tools it needs for data processing.
