Former congressman Mark Cojuangco does not agree with the rising popularity of the climate strike movement, spurred by the woke Scandinavian teen Greta Thurnberg.

The son of bilyonaryo Danding Cojuangco is a staunch advocate of nuclear energy and he thinks climate change activists have a wrong a mindset about how to save the environment.

“The left has an anti development agenda. They want everyone to make do with less. Thats the very definition of becoming poor. I can’t figure out why they find virtue in that?” said Cojuangco on Twitter.

He was replying to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin who agreed with his energy preference: “They must be pro-nuclear or they are pro-Neanderthal.”

Cojuangco said Thurnberg and the rest of the climate marchers have refused to acknowledge that the clean energy they were pushing – such as solar and wind power – has contributed very little in replacing coal and nuclear power as the world’s main power source.

Cojuangco shared a tweet of author and fellow climate skeptic Bjorn Lomborg, to drive home his point: “After 30 years of failed climate policy, more of the same is not the answer. Since the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, our use of renewable energy has increased by only 1.1 percentage points — from meeting 13.1 percent of the world’s energy needs in 1992 to 14.2 percent today.”

“Do the climate marchers in Australia appreciate this ? What about Greta ? Does she comprehend the implications ?” asked Cojuangco.
