San Miguel Brewery Inc. is scaling up its presence in the Visayas with the construction of a new production facility in Iloilo.

The plant, which will be built over a two-year period, will have an initial capacity of one million hectoliters.

It has two breweries in Visayas, located in Mandaue and Bacolod.

“We look forward to growing our presence in the Visayas region. This major development is part of San Miguel’s current expansion in key regions nationwide,” said SMC president Ramon S. Ang.

SMB is set to complete a new brewery in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental and convert its existing Sta. Rosa, Laguna bottling facility into a full-fledged brewery.

The company remains the dominant leader in the beer market, accounting for over 95% of the total. Its other facilities are located in Valenzuela, Pampanga and Davao del Sur.
