The Social Security System (SSS) has vowed to go all out in running after erring employers.
The state pension agency said it would invite the media when it issues a new set to show-cause letters to non-compliant business establishments on July 25.
The Social Security Law mandates all private establishments which have hired employees to deduct and remit personal and employer’s contribution to SSS.
Under the law, employers who violated the law could be sentenced to a maximum of 12 years imprisonment. The court will also require the erring firms to settle the total amount of delinquencies and pay penalties.
Among the violations uncovered by SSS are failure to register their businesses, non-reporting of employees, non-production of employment records, and non-remittance of contributions that are deducted from employees’ salaries
