The total wealth of the world’s richest Filipinos grew by nearly two percent to $48.3 billion in April.
Only five carried the load for the group as most of the 17 dollar bilyonaryos tracked in real time by Forbes magazine.
The richest Filipino, Manny Villar, was the biggest gainer with 11 percent to $6.1 billion in April 2019 from $5.5 billion in March 2019.
Hot on his heels is ports and casino tycoon Ricky Razon, up 10.4 percent to $5.3 billion in April from $4.8 billion the month before.
Razon dislodged from number two John Gokongwei who lost four percent to $4.9 billion in April.
The other gainers were San Miguel Corp. president Ramon S. Ang (up 3.4 percent to $3 billion), Megaworld’s Andrew Tan (up 7.4 percent to $2.9 billion); and San Miguel big boss Danding Cojuangco (up 7.4 percent to $1.5 billion).
