The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) has named Fernando Zobel de Ayala as the Management Man of the Year for 2018.
The president and COO of conglomerate Ayala Corp ia the third in the Zobel clan to receive the prestigious recognition.
Fernando was chosen for ?helping steer the Ayala Group to being consistently ranked by the global investor community as among the best in the Philippines for management excellence, corporate governance, sustainability, and people management,? as well as for his success in leading Ayala Land and the Manila Water Co., MAP said.
He was also recognIzed for contributions in non-government organizations for nation building — Centex (Education), Habitat for Humanity (Housing), HERO Foundation (Fallen Soldiers), Caritas (Church), Asia Society (Culture), and National Museum of the Philippines (Arts).
His father Jaime Zobel de Ayala won in 1987, while his brother Jaime Augusto was conferred the award in 2006.
Excellent management skills definitely run in the Zobel blood.
