The TV anchor wife of former senator Mar Roxas had one of the saddest days in her life.

Korina Sanchez gave an emotional tribute to her pitbull, Simone which suffered kidney failure.

?When I took Simone the sweet pittie from the shelter she already had a failing kidney. I knew her days were numbered. But this is my self-inflicted heartache. I take the old and sick and try to give them their #BestLifefor whatever time they have left. I said my last goodbyes to Simone today. I told her it was alright to rest. I told her she should say hi for me to her other brothers and sisters who went ahead of her and that they should run, run, run and not stop. I can only remember Simone now about how her last months were the best she could have had, given circumstances. Run free in Heaven, Simone. I will see you and everyone up there again one joyous day.?? @korina said.

These dogs have never seen this kind of expanse. The sun, wind and water. They loved the sand. At first Simone was hesitant. But before you knew it, she was wading in the water and didn't want to get out. She had such a good time. She was sick but was always one of the most energetic, all the time.

And then they had their joint birthday party with their own cakes. Simone never had her birthday celebrated. This cake had her name on it. And she looooves to eat. Kidney failure could be slow. Simone was fine all these months. And then it takes a sudden turn for the worse. How strange dogs are sometimes. It's like they know when it is time for them to go. How is it that all these months she was good, and shortly after that very happy day with her brothers and sisters on the beach, it was suddenly downhill? I took her to my own home and we would walk around with her suwero because she didn't want to stop walking. My dog handler John Mark told me he swears that, last night, Simone kept staring at my picture in the library

Just weeks ago, I decided to bring my seniors to the beach. It was like a last reunion because I found homes for most of them already — loving people willing to care of a senior and give them a home, finally.
