NGCP: No damage so far detected from 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Batangas

The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) reported that its power transmission services remain normal despite the 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Batangas at 1:28 p.m. Friday.

In an alert, the NGCP said the grid remained intact as no power interruption has been reported.

The NGCP is still assessing if there are damaged transmission facilities in Metro Manila and surrounding areas.

The tectonic quake’s epicenter was located at 5 km. southwest of Lian, Batangas.

The tremor was felt at Intensity IV in Calapan, Mindoro; Subic, Zambales; Rosario, Cavite; Manila; and Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro; at Intensity III in Pateros City; Quezon City; Makati City; Malolos, Bulacan; Cainta, Rizal; and Calamba, Laguna; at Intensity II in Magalang, Pampanga; and Tanauan City, Batangas; and at Intensity I in Talisay, Batangas.
