The SM Group is ready for any disaster.
About 63 SM malls nationwide, together with SM residences and office buildings participated in the 2017 National Earthquake Drill of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on June 29. Approximately 40,000 SM employees, tenants and customers joined in the simulated scenarios of an earthquake and emergency situations like injured or trapped employees.
SM executive committee chairman Hans Sy is the only board member from the Philippines who is a board member of ARISE or the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies.
