AC Energy and Phinma Energy Corp. have expressed their intention to bid for the 650 megawatt Malaya thermal power plant complex located in Pililia, Rizal.
They join the two other firms ? Riverbend Consolidated Mining Corp. and APT Global Inc. ? that have submitted letters of interest to participate in the bidding scheduled on March 8, 2017.
?We wish to confirm that AC Energy submitted a letter of interest to the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation for the bidding of the Malaya thermal power plant and will conduct further studies on the opportunity,? the Ayala group said.
Bidders have until March 6 next year to conduct due diligence while a bid conference will be held on Jan. 6.
The Malaya plant consists of a 300-MW unit, with a once-through type boiler and a 350-MW unit fitted with a conventional boiler.
