The Ayala family is bent on turning the iconic Tutuban mall in Divisoria, Manila into a modern retail district.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Prime Orion Philippines Inc. (POPI), which is majority owned by property giant Ayala Land Inc., approved its new growth plans and strategies, which include focusing on the redevelopment of the Tutuban Center.
The Tutuban center, which sits a 20-hectare property, is POPI?s most prized asset.
POPI intends to rejuvenate the Tutuban Center with the aim of making it a key retail and commercial hub in Manila.
?To ensure alignment, the organization, its operations and processes, including manpower complement, will be restructured. The initial phase of the Tutuban Center revitalization is ongoing, with improvements to facilities, such as parking, already completed,? POPI said.
Tutuban Center will be the location of the North South Railway Project Transfer Station which will interconnect with the Light Rail Transit 2 West Station. It currently has 60,000 square meters of gross leasable space.
