VISITORS to Marinduque will have an easier time traveling to the island-province, as pioneering flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) mounts special flights on March 23 and 27, in time for the Holy Week break.

In a text message to the BusinessMirror, PAL Senior Vice President for Operations Ismael Augusto Gozon confirmed the flights to Gasan, but said, ?As of now, these are just charter flights.?

Marinduque is the site of the annual Moriones Festival, which reenacts the conversion of Longino, the Roman soldier who thrust a spear in the side of the crucified Christ, in colorful splendor and pageantry without compromising the solemnity of the Lenten celebration.
